This year I've been fortunate enough to hear many of the sweetest sounds...being told for the first time by my doctor that I'm pregnant, Riley's heart beating for the first time inside my belly, and Riley's first cry as she was being born. Today, I heard another sweet sound...Riley's first laugh. It was so amazing and so unexpected. I used to laugh at moms and dads who made such fools of themselves just to get a smile from their childrens' faces. Now, I can honestly say, without shame, I am one of those moms. I was making funny noises to distract Riley and laughed when I saw her smile. She then responded with a brief laugh. I couldn't believe it. It was so wonderful. She actually repeated after I called Trisha over to hear. I can't wait to hear more. I can't wait to hear her say her first word...I'm sure it will be "mama" :-)

The Sweetest Sound...

Visiting Grandpa & Grandma
This is what she wore to visit Papa Bon and Mama Sal. She is wearing the pink and white Puma's that her Tita Nichole bought for her. She is so spoiled. She was so grouchy yesterday when we went to visit them. She is just like her dad...very moody. She is even very picky with who she will "allow" to hold her. If she is not in the mood, she will cry and scream. Hopefully, she snaps out of her moodiness. Look at that pout!

A Chair Fit for a Princess
Our good friends from PA sent Riley this cute chair. She hated it at first but now that she has filled out, she actually fits. She looks so adorable and she actually will sit still and not cry. We use this chair when we need to use the computer or during meal times. I don't know how long we can use this chair for because she fits it pretty well. Good thing it is spongy!
Welcome Baby Riley!
Mommy & Me
I love this photo! The only other photo taken of Riley and myself was they day after Riley was born. I look 20 pounds heavier and had big brown spots all over my face from the pregnancy. I also looked exhausted and swollen. This picture, however, makes me look like the nanny instead of the mom. Riley is so fair in comparison to me. I hope when people see us together, they don't mistake me to be the nanny. I think she has my eyes (not the color) but maybe the shape? Hopefully, she tans if she gets exposed to sunlight and doesn't burn like her dad. Maybe that Filipino side of her will come out later. Hopefully, she doesn't have my solar allergy. This kid will have issues if she has both her parents' problems :-) We'll have to see.
Gray or Hazel?
Riley Has a New Friend
Smile for the Camera!
This was taken a couple days ago. Riley always looks so serious. Trisha and I have been trying our best to get her to smile at the camera but she always looks so solemn. The funny part is that she smiles all the time...just not for the camera. There goes my hopes of her being a model :-) Just kidding. I love the little crinkle between her brows. It makes her look like she has a uni-brow. Riley just turned 3 months when this photo was taken
. She has changed so much from the time that we took her home from the hospital. I can't wait to see more changes to our princess.
